WELCOME TO MATH!
Today we will review some of the graphs we were learning in class.
We will start with the Pictograph, and you will find a link below which will take you to a video at Kahn Academy. Mr. Kahn is quite good at explaining math, so I think you will enjoy it!
After you finish the video, there are seven questions to answer. Have fun!
You do not need to submit any of your answers from the video to me, but when you finish the video, please come back for one last comment :)
Now that you've finished the video and questions, I just wanted to remind you that in a Pictograph, the pictures may represent only one item, but SOMETIMES THEY REPRESENT MORE THAN ONE ITEM. For example, your textbook shows a pictograph on page 226 in which each smiley face represents TWO friends.
It will be important, when creating pictographs, to CHECK THE KEY. Look for the 'KEY' on page 226 which tells you the value for each smiley face.
For a little practice and challenge, please complete numbers 11 and 12 at the bottom of page 227.
