WELCOME TO HANDWRITING!
Please open your Handwriting book to page 70.
Writing a list is a good way to stay organized.
It's possible you might hurry to write a list, to copy a homework assignment, or to jot something down before it is forgotten. Cursive writing will allow you to write more quickly what you need to get down on paper.
Please remember it is important to make your writing easy for others to read.
When you finish writing the list on page 70, please look back at your work and ask yourself these two questions:
► Is your writing easy to read?
► Are your letters equally spaced
Please move to page 71 of your Handwriting book.
The lowercase letters shown on page 71 begin with an 'overcurve' stroke. We will be practicing those letters on the coming pages.
An overcurve stroke is demonstrated for you in the blue rectangle at the top of the page. For an overcurve stroke, you begin at the baseline and bounce up to the midline (dotted line).
► Please trace the overcurve stroke in the blue rectangle three times.
► Then, please practice writing your own overcurve strokes in the space
provided.
